The Department provides teaching of courses at graduate level: Medicinal Chemistry 1 and 2, Drug Metabolism, Medicinal Chemistry - Selected Topics, Drug Design and Biochemical Basis of Toxicity of Endobiotics and Xenobiotics and two courses in English (Medicinal Chemistry and Drugs as Enzyme Inhibitors) as well as several courses in PhD programme (Pharmaceutical Biochemical Sciences) and Postgraduate Specialist Studies. Scientific research is focused on synthesis and biological evaluation of new compounds with potential to develop to cytostatic and antimalarial drugs and antioxidative agents, analysis and biological evaluation of flavonoids, QSAR and drug design of compounds with appropriate ADMET properties and low toxicitity. Offices and laboratories of the Department are located in Ante Kovačića 1 (2nd floor).
