Regulations on Doctoral Studies

The Faculty has adopted and fully implemented the Ordinance on Doctoral Study Programmes of the University of Zagreb and has organised and managed the doctoral study programme in full agreement with it. The Faculty prescribed even stricter criteria than those provided in Article 11, Paragraph 3 of the Ordinance, which for the Faculty reads: “Prior to defending their doctoral thesis, PhD students must have had at least two original scientific research papers in journals indexed in the Current Contents (CC) database published or accepted for publication. One of the two published papers must deal with the doctoral thesis topic and must be an integral part of the thesis, and the PhD student must be the first author. The second paper need not deal with the doctoral thesis topic, but must be within the same field as the doctoral thesis. Each paper, except with a special explanation, may qualify only one PhD student.”
