Profile

Tihana Žanić Grubišić, PhD is a tenured professor at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Haematology. She teaches graduate courses: Biochemistry, Biological Membranes and Cell Signalling and at the doctoral studies Pharmaceutical and Biochemical Sciences: Regulation of metabolism, Biological Membranes and molecular mechanism of transport, Nutrigenetics and Nutrigenomics. At Postgraduate specialist studies in Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory medicine, Molecular Diagnostics, Dermatopharmacy and Cosmetology she teaches and courses related to selected scientific topics. The main area of her scientific research includes molecular mechanism of apoptosis and necrosis, cellular response to various stress conditions, in particular oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, activation of matrix metalloproteinases, activity and regulation of membrane bound ecto-enzymes and transport proteins.
