Profile

Željka Vanić, PhD is an associate professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology. She is co-leader of obligatory courses Drug Formulation and Magistral Formulation as well as collaborator in teaching elective course Innovative Drug Delivery Systems (Study of pharmacy). She is a member of the Centre for Applied Pharmacy since its inception (2004), and participates in teaching in Introduction to the Pharmacy (co-leader) and coordinates the implementation of Pharmacy Practice for the students of third and fourth years of the Study of pharmacy program. In addition, she is co-leader of obligatory courses Excipients and Forms for Topical Administration and Advanced pharmaceutical forms at postgraduate studies Dermatopharmacy and Cosmetology as well as Drug Development. In addition, she collaborates in teaching Innovative Drug Delivery Systems at postgraduate/doctoral study Pharmaceutical Sciences. Her scientific interest mostly covers design and evaluation of the novel drug delivery (nano)systems for improved topical therapy (vaginal and skin). These are primarily phospholipid vesicles – liposomes (conventional, elastic, mucoadhesive) incorporated into semisolid vehicles (gels). She has also an experience in evaluation of pH-sensitive liposomes for triggered release inside the cells.
