Profile

Anita Somborac Bačura, PhD, is an assistant professor at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Hematology. She teaches graduate courses Immunochemistry, Introduction to the study of medical biochemistry, Biochemistry, General clinical biochemistry, Clinical biochemistry of the organs and organic systems 2, Clinical biochemistry with haematology, Free radicals and antioxidants in health and disease, Biological membranes and cell signalling, and Professional training. Her scientific interests include biochemical and molecular analysis of mechanisms of pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, with the aim of discovering new potential biomarkers for early diagnosis and prognosis of disease.
