Mission, Vision and Objectives

The mission of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry of the University of Zagreb is to implement scientific research, graduate and postgraduate education and professional activities in the field of biomedicine and health, and thereby to contribute to the general progress of communities and knowledge based development of economy. By ensuring the rational use of available human and material resources,the Faculty encourages development of the multidisciplinary scientific and educational programs, international competitiveness of teaching, scientific and professional work, rise insociety’s innovation level, rapid transfer of knowledge, as well as, linking of education, research and entrepreneurship.

In accordance with the mission,clear research profile, teaching process based on new scientific achievements, learning outcomes, and the principle of lifelong learning and involvement in European research and higher education area, the vision of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry of the University of Zagreb is to become one of the leading academic centres in the scientific field of biomedicine and healthcare in the region.The Faculty, as a socially responsible institution, will continue to improve its educational, scientific and professional activitiesthrough collaboration with other academic, research and public institutions at the international, national and local level. Interdisciplinary education and training will provide professionals with competence required to solve problems in their respective subject areas for the benefit of society.

The objectivesof the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistryare the following: improvement and development of teaching, scientific research and professional work, strengthening of human resources (by number and quality), strong integration into the European and worldwide scientific area through the promotion of mobility and exchange of knowledge and skills, implementation of quality assurance, and promoting science and pharmaceutical and medical biochemistry profession insociety.
